Mobile Application “Focusy”

1. General Provisions

1.1. This Privacy Policy (hereinafter — “Policy”) defines the procedures for processing and protecting personal data of users of the mobile application “Focusy” (hereinafter — “Application”).

1.3. By using the Application, the User agrees to the terms of this Policy. If the User does not agree with the terms of the Policy, the User must discontinue use of the Application.

2. Data We Collect

2.1. Data created by the User within the Application:

  • Tasks (title, notes, priority, date, deadline time) — for to-do list management;
  • Habits (name, emoji, completion entries) — for habit tracking;
  • Journal entries (text, mood) — for mood journaling;
  • Focus sessions — for productivity tracking;
  • Energy logs — for energy level monitoring.

2.2. Data obtained through specific features:

  • Voice data — when using the voice input feature for journal entries (with User permission). Audio is processed on-device and is not stored after transcription;
  • Text data — sent to a third-party AI service for mood analysis, task extraction, and generating personalized insights;
  • Calendar events — when task-to-calendar synchronization is enabled (with User permission).

2.3. Data we do NOT collect:

  • Location data;
  • Contacts from the address book;
  • Health data (HealthKit);
  • Advertising identifiers (IDFA);
  • Tracking data (App Tracking Transparency);
  • Name, email address, or any other personally identifying information.

3. Purposes of Data Processing

Data is processed exclusively for the following purposes:

  • Managing tasks, habits, and the mood journal;
  • Analyzing journal entry mood using artificial intelligence;
  • Extracting tasks from voice and text input;
  • Generating personalized recommendations and insights based on User data;
  • Synchronizing tasks with the device calendar (when enabled by the User);
  • Displaying data in widgets on the device home screen;
  • Sending local notification reminders about tasks and habits.

4. Data Storage

4.1. All User data (tasks, habits, journal entries, focus sessions, energy logs, AI insights) is stored locally on the User's device in a CoreData database.

4.2. Widget data is stored in the shared App Group storage (UserDefaults) for access by the widget extension.

4.3. The AI service API key is stored in the device's secure Keychain storage.

4.4. The Application does not use its own servers to store User data. The Application has no server-side component, accounts, or cloud synchronization.

5. Third-Party Data Sharing

5.1. To provide AI features (mood analysis, task extraction, insight generation), User text data is sent to the third-party artificial intelligence service DeepSeek (DeepSeek AI, China) via a secure connection (HTTPS) at api.deepseek.com. Only entry texts and tasks are transmitted, without any personally identifying User data.

5.2. When using voice input, audio data is processed by Apple's built-in speech recognition (on-device).

5.3. The Operator does not sell, rent, or otherwise transfer User personal data to any other third parties, except as required by applicable law.

5.4. Data may be disclosed at the request of authorized government agencies in accordance with applicable legislation.

6. Data Protection

The following measures are applied to protect data:

  • Local storage of all data on the User's device;
  • Use of the secure Keychain storage for sensitive data (API key);
  • Data transmission to the AI service via the secure HTTPS protocol;
  • Minimal data collection (data minimization principle);
  • No server infrastructure, eliminating the risk of centralized data breaches.

7. User Rights

The User has the right to:

  • Obtain information about the processing of their data;
  • Delete all data by uninstalling the Application from the device (since data is stored locally, uninstalling the Application completely removes all User data);
  • Delete individual tasks, habits, and journal entries directly within the Application;
  • Disable calendar synchronization in the Application settings;
  • Revoke permissions for microphone, speech recognition, calendar, and notifications in device settings;
  • Withdraw consent to data processing by discontinuing use of the Application.

8. Device Permissions

The Application may request the following permissions:

  • Microphone — for voice input of journal entries and tasks. Audio is processed on-device and is not stored;
  • Speech Recognition — for converting voice to text. Processing is performed by Apple's built-in tools;
  • Calendar — for synchronizing tasks with the device calendar. The Application creates a separate “Focusy” calendar;
  • Notifications — for sending reminders about tasks, habits, and deadlines.

All permissions are optional. The User may decline any permission — the core features of the Application will continue to function.

9. Age Restrictions

The Application is not intended for persons under the age of 4. The Application does not collect personally identifying data from users.

10. In-App Purchases

The Application may contain in-app purchases processed through the Apple App Store. The Operator does not receive or store User payment data. All payment information is processed by Apple Inc. in accordance with its privacy policy.

11. Changes to the Policy

11.1. The Operator reserves the right to amend this Policy. The revised version takes effect from the moment of its publication.

11.2. Continued use of the Application after changes have been made constitutes the User's acceptance of the revised Policy.

11.3. The User is advised to regularly review the current version of the Policy.

12. Disclaimer

12.1. Recommendations and insights generated by artificial intelligence in the Application are for informational purposes only.

12.2. The Application is not a medical device and does not replace consultation with a qualified professional (psychologist, therapist, or physician).

12.3. The Operator shall not be liable for decisions made by the User based on information obtained through the Application.
